District Budgets
Largest district by enrollment
New York's "Big 5" city school districts — Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Yonkers, and New York City — don't hold the property-tax-cap budget referendum that every other district in the state does; their budgets are adopted through a city-budget process instead. Westchester County's other districts' budgets will be added here as they're verified.

Yonkers is the only one of New York's five "Big 5" city school districts with a fully mayor-appointed board: per NY Education Law §2553, all 9 trustees are appointed by the Mayor to staggered 5-year terms beginning the first Tuesday in May, rather than elected by voters. There is no election to report here, and no next election date — the board changes only as the Mayor makes new appointments.
