Careers
PagPol publishes nonpartisan, county-by-county coverage of elections, government meetings, and elected officials across all 57 of New York State’s counties. We’re a small operation, and we grow by finding people who take county government as seriously as we do: the meetings, the filings, the races that rarely get a reporter in the room.
What We Do
We report on elections, county and municipal government, and school boards, and we build the civic-data tools that make that coverage useful: interactive maps, vote trackers, and county-by-county datasets pulled from public records. Every story starts with a meeting we attended or a document we read, nonpartisan and specific to the county it’s about.
What We're Looking For
We’re always interested in hearing from people who fit one of these:
County reporters and stringers. You cover meetings, elections, and public records in a county or region you know well, on a freelance or stringer basis.
Editors. You shape coverage across counties, edit for clarity and fairness, and help hold the line on nonpartisan, record-based reporting.
Civic-data and civic-tech contributors. You build or maintain the tools behind our coverage: the election maps, vote trackers, and datasets that turn public records into something readable.
