District Budgets
Largest district by enrollment
New York's "Big 5" city school districts — Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Yonkers, and New York City — don't hold the property-tax-cap budget referendum that every other district in the state does; their budgets are adopted by their Boards of Education and then reviewed under a separate city-budget process. Onondaga County's other districts' budgets will be added here as they're verified.

Incumbent; lost the Democratic primary, then an independent write-in bid.
Challenger, ran on the Republican line.
Syracuse's Board of Education is elected, not appointed — the only role the mayor plays is filling a seat on an interim basis if it becomes vacant mid-term, as happened after Twiggy Billue's removal above. Seats are staggered 4-year terms with roughly 2-3 up each odd-year cycle; the next partial election is in 2027, alongside a special election to fill the remainder of Billue's term in November 2026.
